Be the first to take our new beta API for a spin.
Psst. Want to check out a new beta API? Maybe win some cool prizes? You've come to the right place. But let's just keep this between you and me.
We've quietly slipped a few new Number Insight Beta APIs into our labs. If you've played with our Number Insight API in the past, you know it gives you a bunch of information. Our beta of Number Insight Standard provides a little less information than its advanced big brother, but delivers the response right away, not in a callback, making it a perfect fit for realtime validation of user input.
The Number Insight Standard beta also gives you the national format for a number, identifies the country and carrier, and provides the international format of the number. So it's great for transforming user supplied numbers into a usable state.
Not sure what format the number is in? You can pass a country code - say from a user's address - and we'll do the work for you.
If you only need to determine the national and international format of a number, the Number Insight Basic beta provides that subset of information. Because no carrier information in provided, this only validates that the number is formatted properly. But that can be very useful, especially if you're using the rest of our APIs.
What should you build? Well, that's up to you. Could be a utility to clean up contacts, a plugin for a system where accurate numbers are important, or a service that ranks carriers by how many of your friends use them. Or something else entirely.
Best use of the new Number Insight beta APIs (either or both) will win a collection of cool home automation tech: An Amazon Echo with remote, a Phillips Hue starter kit, and a WeMo light switch. And we'll send the runner up an Echo too.
